Description:
Direct Care Workers are responsible for providing assistance and support to individuals who may have physical, developmental, or intellectual disabilities, as well as for elderly individuals who require help with daily activities. They may work in a variety of settings including group homes, assisted living facilities, or in clients' own homes. Their main duties include helping with personal care tasks, administering medication, preparing meals, and providing companionship and emotional support.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- CPR and first aid certification
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow directions and work independently
- Patience and compassion
- Physical stamina to help clients with mobility and personal care tasks
- Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving role is a plus
